Looking for beauty, finding freedom - An wabi-sabi online day retreat

An Online Wabi-sabi Day Retreat
1st June

| UK GMT 9.00 - 17.30| Europe CET 10 - 18:30 |

What’s the one thing you want more time for in your life?

It’s only when we’ve fulfilled all our other responsibilities, as workers, parents, carers and so on, that we carve out some time for ourselves. Then what do you choose?

Time for Dharma practice?
Time for creativity?
Choose both with this online/offline day retreat.

Dharma practice offers the ultimate freedom, freedom from dukkha. While creativity transforms our day-to-day lives by taking our attention to the beauty that is already there.

This day retreat will be a mixture of meditation, creative assignments, and dharma reflections exploring teachings on the lakshanas and vimokshas; the doorways to openness, clarity and sensitivity.

It is ideal to do alone, together with a friend, or in a group. We won’t sit in front of our computers all day, but will take our reflections out into the world. At the beginning of the day, I’ll give you recorded instructions for 2 playful assignments to do away from the computer.

Each of the assignments will be an invitation to look more deeply. To help with that looking you might use a notebook, pencils, a camera, or audio recorder. Come prepared to play.

The retreat will take place on Zoom and afterwards I will upload the videos of the sessions to this space. They’ll be available to revisit after the retreat, or if you are unable to make it on the day.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is suitable for anyone who’s learnt to meditate. You can have lots of Buddhist practice under your belt or none. We’ll be exploring the immediacy of everyday experience, that’s where the magic is and it’s available to all.

As with all meditation practices, this day might be suitable for those currently experiencing mental health difficulties. If you are in any doubt as to whether the retreat might be suitable for you please drop me a line.
